Today's Game: The Dayton Dragons (affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds) meet the Lake County Captains (affiliate of the Cleveland Indians) in a suspended game doubleheader. The first game will be picked up in the bottom of the fifth inning with the score tied, 2-2. These are the first two games of a four-game series. Season Series to Date: Dayton 4, Lake County 0.

Streaks: The Dragons have won their last three games after an eight-game losing streak which came on the heels of winning nine of the previous 10.

Last Game: Monday: Dayton 2, Lake County 2 (suspended by rain in middle of fifth inning). John Sansone has a two-run home run for Dayton.

The Dragons have been the streakiest team in professional baseball in 2018. They started the year with a three-game losing streak, won the next nine games, lost the next eight, won nine of 10, lost the next eight, and have won the last three.

The Dragons batted .320 in the four-game series vs. Great Lakes, their highest average in any series this season. Their 14 extra base hits in the series was one short of their season high for a series.

The Dragons team ERA in their 21 wins is 3.48 (189 IP, 73 ER). The ERA in the 20 losses is 7.22 (168.1 IP, 135 ER).

The Dragons are 15-7 at home; 6-13 on the road.

2018 Individual Notes

Michael Beltre over his last 10 games: 14 for 38, .368. Beltre is sixth in the league in batting average at .339. Beltre has a 35-game on-base streak that is the longest active streak in the league.

Stuart Fairchild over his last eight games: 11 for 31 (.355) with one home run, three doubles a triple, and seven RBI.

Leandro Santana over his last 12 games: 12 for 35 (.343) with three home runs.

Jose Garcia has a four-game hitting streak, going 6 for 12 (.500) with five RBI and three walks.

John Ghyzel is tied for first in the MWL lead in saves with seven. In 15 appearances, he has a 1.80 ERA.

Cory Thompson has allowed earned runs in just one of his 16 relief appearances, posting a 1.27 ERA.
