DOUBLE FOR DOUBLE A: Austin Allen had 2 hits on Thursday, including a double - his first extra-base hit since April 26.

BELEN BASHES: Carlos Belen had 2 hits, including a double, as well. It was Belen's first multi-hit performance in 17 games this year.

ALUMNI REPORT: Matt Bush, who played in Fort Wayne from 2005-07, was called up to the Texas Rangers from the Double-A Frisco Roughriders on Friday. Bush, a right-handed pitcher, becomes the 147th former TinCap/Wizard to reach the Major Leagues.

BUSH'S BACKSTORY: The Padres selected Bush as a shortstop out of high school in San Diego with the No. 1 overall pick in 2004. He spent the entire 2005 season with the Fort Wayne Wizards, batting .221 in 126 games with 2 HR and 32 RBI. After breaking his ankle in spring training in 2006, Bush missed the first half of the season before returning to Fort Wayne and hitting .268 in 21 games. Another injury cut his season short after that. The Padres put him on the mound in 2007. On Aug. 9, 2007, Bush made his Wizards debut as a pitcher at Burlington. After just a third of an inning, Bush tore a ligament in his right elbow and had to come out of the game. He then missed 2008 following Tommy John Surgery. In 2009, the Padres traded him to the Blue Jays, who released him before the season began. The Rays signed him in 2010. He made it as high as Double-A in Tampa Bay's organization in 2011. During spring training in 2012, Bush, while drunk, ran over a 72-year-old motorcyclist named Tony Tufano, with a teammate's truck. He was arrested and later sentenced to 51 months in prison. Bush was released from prison last October and signed by the Rangers in December.

THE OTHER GUYS: The Whitecaps have the following Top 30 Tigers prospects, according to MLB.com: RHP Beau Burrows (#2), OF Jose Azocar (#18), RHP Sandy Baez (#20), RHP Gerson Moreno (#24) and C Arvicent Perez (#28).
