Rattlers Unveil 2016 Specialty Jerseys
May 13, 2016 - Midwest League (MWL1)
Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
GRAND CHUTE, WI - The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are suiting up in some different jerseys on special days during the 2016 season and they are ready to show them off to the fans before they don the new threads.
The Rattlers will wear a special design inspired by the Milwaukee Brewers, their Major League affiliate, for every Sunday home game during the remainder of the 2016 season. The first chance fans will get to see these jerseys are on Sunday, May 15 when the team hosts the Cedar Rapids Kernels at 1:05pm.
Star Wars™ Night is back on Saturday, June 4 when the Rattlers welcome in the Sith Lords. No. Wait. It's actually the Kane County Cougars coming to Neuroscience Group Field at Fox Cities Stadium for a 6:35pm game. Wisconsin will wear jerseys based on the design of R2-D2 for the game. There will be characters from the movies and a special postgame fireworks display, too.
The final specialty jerseys worn by the Rattlers this season will be the patriotically-themed Military Appreciation jerseys for the game on Thursday, June 30 against the Clinton LumberKings. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm and there will be a bobblehead featuring Khris Davis, a co-holder of the team's single-season home run record, wearing one of the jerseys. The bobblehead and Military Appreciation Night are sponsored by American National Bank.
Fans will have an opportunity to take home one of these specialty jerseys. There will be a silent auction held during the Star Wars™ Night and Military Appreciation Night games. The Brewers Sunday jerseys will be available in live auction after the game on Sunday, August 21.
Proceeds from the jersey auctions will go to the new Wisconsin Timber Rattlers Charity Fund and be distributed to the following charities:
- Star Wars™ Jersey Auction: Make-A-Wish® Wisconsin
- Brewers Sunday Jersey Auction: Children's Hospital of Wisconsin
- Military Appreciation Jersey Auction: Veterans Emergency Fund
Tickets for games with the specialty jerseys and for all remaining Timber Rattlers home games during the 2016 season are on sale now. Tickets are available online, over the phone at (920) 733-4152 or (800) WI-TIMBER and in person. Groups of 20 or more may order tickets at a special price over the phone or in person.
