THURSDAY NIGHT: The TinCaps extended their winning streak to a season-high 6 games with a come-from-behind 5-4 win over the Captains in 11 innings. The Twinsburg, Ohio, native Jalen Washington, with family & friends in attendance, tied the game in the top of the 8th with a 2-run blast over the bleacher seats in left field. The game ended on a wild 6-3-5 double play in the 11th for Fort Wayne to hold on for the win.

HOT CAPS: The TinCaps have won 6 in a row, their longest winning streak of the season. Fort Wayne has outscored its opponents 30-14 during this run.

HOMECOMING: Washington had his mom (Barbara), stepfather (Richard), dad (Edward), high school basketball coach (Bob Pacsi), and group of about 20 family members and friends supporting him Thursday.

SUWINSKI IN STRIDE: Jack Suwinski is batting second tonight - the first time this year he's batting any higher than fifth. Suwinski vaults up as he's 8-for-19 (.421) through 6 games this half with a double, a triple, a homer, and 3 RBIs. A year ago, Suwinski spent 47 games batting leadoff for the 'Caps and another 17 in the 2 spot.

ORNELAS ON BASE: Tirso Ornelas' 27-game on-base streak came to an end Thursday night @ Lake County. The on-base streak was the 2nd longest active streak in the MWL at the time, and it stands as the longest such streak for a TinCap this season. (The longest in the league this year: 31 games, Michael Beltre, Dayton.) From May 24-June 27, Ornelas hit .297 with a .425 OBP. He had 6 doubles, 3 triples, 4 homers, and 16 RBIs during the run. Maybe most impressive, he walked more times (19) than he struck out (16).

YOU GOTTA FEIGHT: Like for Suwinski, tonight is the highest first baseman Nick Feight is batting in the order this season (fifth).

LOPEZ FROM THE LEFT: The switch-hitting Justin Lopez is slashing

.264/.321/.421 against right-handed pitching this season. All 5 of his homers and 19 of his 22 RBIs have come as a left-handed batter.

ARIAS RISES: Shortstop Gabriel Arias was hitting .200 after June 7. Since then, Arias is 2nd on the team in average. Over his last 16 games, Arias has hit .304 with 2 doubles, a homer, and 9 RBIs.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 5th in runs (48), 6th in walks (43), and 8th in OBP (.387)... Esteury Ruiz 3rd in SB (24)... Travis Radke is 3rd in saves (10).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 9th in BB% (15%)... Tirso Ornelas is 8th lowest Swing & Miss% (7%) and 10th in BB/K (0.76).

BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted an ERA of 2.98 over the last 58 games. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had allowed 60 ER in 72.1 IP for a 7.47 ERA.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The TinCaps went 8-2 on their 10-game homestand. Fort Wayne is 26-16 at home this year, including 18-6 since May 14. The 'Caps are slashing .264/.346/.379 at home this year compared to .214/.295/.314 on the road, where they're 12-23. The TinCaps have averaged 5.0 runs per game at home and 3.6 per game on the road.
