MONDAY NIGHT: Both Luis Campusano and Kelvin Melean (In his 2nd game with Fort Wayne) had 2 hits on Monday night, but the TinCaps fell, 6-1, in their series finale against the Bowling Green Hot Rods. On 4 days rest for the first time in his pro career, MacKenzie Gore threw 5 innings, allowed 2 runs, 3 hits, and struck out 3 while his fastball topped out at 95 mph.

POLISHED PATINO: At 18, Luis Patiño is the 3rd youngest pitcher in the MWL. The Colombian boasts a 2.55 ERA in 9 starts this year. Last time on the mound, Patiño looked as sharp as ever throwing 5 2/3 no-hit innings, allowing 1 unearned run, walking 3 with 8 strike outs. In his 2nd start of the season, Luis allowed 7 ER in 3 1/3 IP @ West Michigan. In the other 8 starts, he has only allowed 5 ER in 39 IP, good for a 1.15 ERA.

VIDEO GAME NUMBERS: Robbie Podorsky has improved his numbers in every consecutive month this season with the TinCaps. In 10 games in May, Podorsky slashed .294/.351/.412 with 4 RBIs and 6 SB. In 23 games in June, he slashed .378/.414/.500 with 11 RBIs and 11 SB. Through 7 games so far in July, he has slashed .407/.500/.519 with 7 RBIs and 2 SB.

FROM THE FORT TO THE FUTURE: On Friday, Major League Baseball announced the rosters for the MLB Futures Game on Sunday, July 15 at Nationals Park, in advance of the MLB All-Star Game. 4 recent TinCaps have been honored with selections for the game: shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. (2017), outfielder Buddy Reed (2017), right-handed pitcher Enyel De Los Santos (2016), and second baseman Luis Urías (2015). Tatis, De Los Santos, and Urías will be on the World roster, while Reed will play for Team USA. Tatis is currently starring with Double-A San Antonio. Reed is with High-A Lake Elsinore. Urías is with Triple-A El Paso. De Los Santos was traded to the Phillies during the offseason and is with Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

NOT ALL LOST: Although the TinCaps were swept in 4 games against the Hot Rods , they've still won 11 of their last 17. During these 17 games, Fort Wayne has outscored its opponents 76-55.

2ND-HALF RACE: The TinCaps are tied for 2nd place in the Midwest League Eastern Division 2nd half standings with Lansing and South Bend, while Bowling Green is in 1st. Lansing and Bowling Green don't actually factor into the 2nd-half playoff race though since they clinched spots in the 1st half. So effectively, the 'Caps are tied for the top spot with South Bend and have 2-game lead on Dayton, Lake County, and West Michigan.

LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is tied for 4th in runs (55), 9th in walks (45), and 6th in OBP (.385)... Esteury Ruiz is 3rd in SB (32)... Robbie Podorsky is tied for 9th in SB (19)... Travis Radke is 3rd in saves (11).

ADVANCED STATS LEAGUE LEADERS: Jeisson Rosario is 9th in BB% (14%) and 8th in BB/K (0.70), 8th in LD% (23%)... Tirso Ornelas has the 8th lowest Swing & Miss% (7%).

BULLPEN BOOMERANG: TinCaps relievers have posted a 2.93 ERA over the last 69 games since April 25. In this time, the 'pen has been led by Travis Radke, Caleb Boushley, Evan Miller, and Ben Sheckler. Through the first 19 games of the year, the bullpen had allowed 60 ER in 72.1 IP for a 7.47 ERA. In the last 69 games, the bullpen has allowed 85 ER in 261 IP.
