Fort Wayne, Indiana-Rymer Liriano's base hit to center field brought in Jeudy Valdez from second base to break a 4-4 tie with no outs in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the Fort Wayne TinCaps to a 5-4 victory over the Dayton Dragons on Thursday night. The loss dropped the Dragons to 5-3 on the season. Fort Wayne improved to 5-3 with the win. The TinCaps have won the first two games of the three-game series.

The game featured 29 hits including 14 by the Dragons. The Dayton attack was led by Didi Gregorius, who belted his first home run of the season and second of his career, a solo shot in the fifth inning. Andrew Means had three hits and scored two runs for Dayton. Gregorius, Kevin Coddington, Byron Wiley, Chris Richburg, and Frank Pfister all had two hits for the Dragons.

The Dragons tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the ninth inning when Means singled, stole second, and eventually scored on Richburg's single to left. But Fort Wayne collected three straight hits against Ezequiel Infante (0-1) in the bottom of the ninth for the win.

Infante allowed nine hits and three runs in three innings of work out of the Dayton bullpen. He walked one and struck out no one. Dragons starting pitcher Brian Pearl was the only other hurler. He worked five innings, allowing six hits and two earned runs with no walks and four strikeouts.

Both teams led at some point during the game but neither team opened a lead of more than one run. The game was tied at one, two, three, and four.

Henry Rodriguez went 1 for 5 for Dayton to extend his hitting streak to eight straight games. He has a hit in each game of the season.
