Burlington, IA (April 15, 2010) - The Burlington Bees posted season highs in runs and hits and clinched their first series victory of the year with an 11-4 drubbing of the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Thursday night.

The Bees wasted no time ambushing Wisconsin starter Efrain Nieves (L, 0-2), turning six first-inning hits into a season-high six runs before the frame was complete. Carlo Testa dropped a two-run double a few feet inside the left field line, and another two scored on a throwing error.

The second inning saw Gerard Hall pick up a multi-RBI double for the third straight game. This time, the Old Dominion product followed a Deivy Batista single and a Wil Myers walk with his drive to give the Bees an eight-run advantage.

Hilton Richardson added a booming two-run home run in the seventh to finish out the scoring and give the club a season-high 12 hits.

Bees starter Tyler Sample gave way to tandem starter Brendan Lafferty (W, 1-0) after issuing six walks in four and two-thirds innings. Lafferty struck out five, walked one, and allowed two earned runs in four and a third to pick up his first win.

Batista roped three hits, and designated hitter Jose Bonilla had two hits and a walk.

The Bees and Rattlers close out the three-game series tomorrow night on Big Fun Friday presented by Budweiser. Arrive early to take advantage of happy hour drink special after gates open at 5:30. First pitch will be at 6:30, and the Casebine Community Credit Union Pregame Show gets under way at 6:10 on News Radio 1490 KBUR.
