Timberwolves Assignees Shine in Wolves Loss to Legends

Des Moines, Iowa - Minnesota Timberwolves assignees Naz Reid and Jaylen Nowell each finished with career-highs during the Iowa Wolves (1-3) 134-114 loss Saturday night to the Texas Legends (2-2) at Wells Fargo Arena.

Reid finished with a game-high 32 points and eight rebounds while shooting 11-of-23 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from deep. Nowell tallied 28 points and a team-high 11 rebounds on 11-of-23 shooting. The former University of Washington standout also recorded his first NBA G League double-double in the loss.

Iowa used a 15-0 run to close out the first half with a 57-54 lead but would be outscored 80-57 in the remaining two quarters of play.

Defensively, Iowa allowed a season-high 134 points to Texas while allowing the opposing team to shoot 58.1% from the floor.

Jordan Murphy led the second unit with a 15-point, 10-rebound performance for the Wolves.

Two-way guard Jaylen Hoard poured in a team-high 30 points and collected nine rebounds off the bench for the Legends. Guard Dakota Mathias chipped in 22 points on 8-of-12 shooting from the floor for Texas.

Iowa returns to action Wednesday evening as it battles the South Bay Lakers at Wells Fargo Arena at 7:00 p.m.
