
Blue Coats Fall to Charge on Second Night of Back-to-Back

WILMINGTON - The Delaware Blue Coats (2-2), the NBA G League affiliate of the Philadelphia 76ers, fell to the Canton Charge (3-1), 123-111, on Saturday night at 76ers Fieldhouse. In his second game of the season for the Blue Coats, 76ers assignment player Jonah Bolden notched a double-double with 16 points (5-9 fg, 1-3 3fg, 3-3 ft) and 16 rebounds in 29 minutes.
Haywood Highsmith also secured a double-double for the home team, stuffing the stat sheet with 17 points (7-15 fg, 1-5 3fg, 1-2 ft), 10 rebounds and six assists in 37 minutes of action. Jared Brownridge drained seven 3-point field goals en route to a team-high-tying 21 points (7-15 fg, 7-14 3fg) in 33 minutes off the bench for Delaware. The 2018-19 G League leader in 3-point field goals made, Brownridge made seven triples on six different occasions for the Blue Coats last season.
Xavier Munford also posted 21 points (9-20 fg, 3-7 3fg) for the Blue Coats, to go along with two rebounds and six assists in a team-high 42 minutes, while Doral Moore made his first start of the season and neared a double-double with 16 points (6-7 fg, 2-3 ft) and nine rebounds in 30 minutes.
Levi Randolph led the way for Canton, finishing with a game-high 35 points (13-21 fg, 6-10 3fg, 2-2 ft), five rebounds and four assists in 34 minutes. Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman tallied 21 points (8-12 fg, 2-3 3fg, 2-2 ft) in 29 minutes as a reserve for the Charge, while Malik Newman added 20 points (8-21 fg, 1-7 3fg, 2-2 ft), six boards and a career-high eight assists in 36 minutes as a starter.
The Blue Coats return to action on Tuesday night at home when they take on the Capital City Go-Go at 7:00 p.m.
