
Tigertown to Host Junior College State Baseball Championships May 9-14

Lakeland, FL - Some of the best baseball players in the state of Florida will be in Lakeland May 9-14 as Tigertown hosts the 2014 Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Tournament.
The tournament begins at Joker Marchant Stadium on Friday, May 9 at 10:00 a.m. as Polk State (36-12), currently the #3 ranked team in the state and #20 ranked team in the country takes on Palm Beach State (28-21), last season's state champion and national runners-up. The action continues at 1:00 p.m. when Eastern Florida State (28-17) takes on Gulf Coast State (37-12), currently the #14 ranked team in the country. At 4:00 p.m. State College of Florida (30-18) battles Tallahassee (38-16). The last game on day one has Central Florida (32-17) taking on Chipola (36-10), currently the #1 ranked team in the state and #2 ranked team in the nation at 7:00 p.m.
Day two begins with St. Johns River (37-12), currently the #2 ranked team in the state, takes on the winner of the Eastern Florida State and Gulf Coast State game at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. At 1:00 p.m. Miami Dade (30-14), currently the #4 ranked team in the state, will take on the winner of the Tallahassee and State College of Florida game. The remaining game schedule is listed below.
Tickets to the FCSAA tournament will be available as follows:
Ã- Tournament Pass - $25
Ã- Daily Pass - $10 ($9 for children 6-14)
Ã- Championship Game Ticket Only - $5
Ã- Children 5 and under are free
Ã- Parking is free
The winner of the tournament will advance to the National Junior College Activities Association (JUCO) 57th Annual World Series to be held in Grand Junction, Colorado at Suplizio Field May 24-31.
