Medicine Hat Tigers News Release
Medicine Hat, AB - Medicine Hat Tigers made their second trade in as many days with the acquisition of forward COLE GRBAVAC from the Kamloops Blazer, the team announced today.
In return, the Tigers trade 19-year-old forward John Stampohar to Kamloops.
Grbavac, from Calgary, AB, is in his second WHL season. The 6' 2", 190 lbs right winger has played a total of seventy three games, netting four goals and three assists for seven points along with 103 penalty minutes.
Grbavac was originally drafted by the Portland Winter Hawks in the third round, 56th overall in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft.
"We are always looking to acquire good players for our team," said Tigers gm/head coach Willie Desjardins. "We had been in touch with Kamloops and they were prepared to make a move. Both teams felt they were getting a similar type of player, so it seems like a good fit for everyone."
"Grbavac plays a gritty, physical style of game. We are looking forward to Cole joining our team, " said Desjardins.
"We would like to thank John for his time with the Tigers and wish him all the best with the Blazers," stated Desjardins.
