Bruins Make More Roster Moves

Ramsay Traded to Swift Current

Chilliwack Bruins General Manager and Head Coach Marc Habscheid announced today that 18 year old defenceman Scott Ramsay has been traded to the Swift Current Broncos in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2010 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft.

Ramsay was originally selected by the Bruins with the 64th selection in the 2006 WHL Bantam Draft. He joined the Bruins in December of 2007. In 94 regular season games with the Bruins Ramsay scored three goals, ten assists and added 182 minutes in penalties.

With the move, the Bruins are down to 24 players on their active roster inlcuding two goaltenders, eight defencemen and 14 forwards.

Smith Placed on Waivers

Chilliwack Bruins General Manager and Head Coach Marc Habscheid announced today that 20 year old forward Andy Smith has been placed on waivers. Should Smith go unclaimed by another Western Hockey League club he will become a free agent. Smith was acquired by the Bruins from the Prince Albert Raiders in November of 2008. In 58 games with the Bruins, Smith recorded 11 goals and 21 assists. The Bruins are now down to the WHL limit of three 20 year olds on their active roster.
