October 8, 2009 - Western Hockey League (WHL)
Brandon Wheat Kings News Release
Brandon, Manitoba -- The Brandon Wheat Kings reduced their active roster to twenty-eight players Thursday with the announcement that 17-year old defenceman Kyle Krzyzaniak has been assigned to the Portage Terriers of the Manitoba Junior Hockey League.
A 6'2" 185 lb Neepawa product, Krzyzaniak appeared in one regular season game this season, after dressing for all four pre-season games for the Wheat Kings.
As a member of the MJHL's Neepawa Natives last season, Krzyzaniak had four assists and 65 penalty minutes in 55 games.
Of the 28 players on its active roster, eight are defencemen including rookies Dallas Ehrhardt and Alexander Urbom.
On the ice, the Wheat Kings close out a 4-game homestand Friday night against the visiting Kootenay Ice at Westman Place. Puck drop is at 7:30 and tickets are on sale now at the Keystone Centre box office, by calling 726-3555 or online at ticketmaster.ca
