Portland Winterhawks News Release

Prior to the Winterhawks' game Saturday against the Prince Albert Raiders, the team will honor former public address announcer Dan Folwick, who retired as the voice of the Winterhawks during the summer after 18 seasons.

Folwick will be honored in a pre-game ceremony and participate in a ceremonial puck drop, giving fans the opportunity to pay tribute to him for his years of service to the team.

"Dan was a vital part of our organization for many years and we were sorry to see him go this summer," said Portland Winterhawks President Doug Piper. "We're sure our fans will appreciate the opportunity to thank Dan for being such an important part of the Winterhawks experience."

Folwick continues to maintain a presence with the organization, making appearances at team functions and community events and working with the Winterhawks Alumni Association.

Great seats for season tickets and group packages for the 2009-10 season are still available. Call 503-236-HAWK to reserve your spot today.
