Tigers Acquire Barlage from Hurricanes

Medicine Hat, AB - The Medicine Hat Tigers announced today, ahead of the Western Hockey League's trade deadline that they have traded forward Corson Hopwo ('01) to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in exchange for Logan Barlage ('01) and a 4th round pick in the 2022 WHL Prospect Draft.

Barlage was originally drafted by the Swift Current Broncos 4th overall in 2016 before being dealt to the Lethbridge Hurricanes in the 2017-18 season. The 6'5" centre from Humboldt, SK has appeared in 31 games for the Hurricanes this season, registering seven goals and adding 10 assists, to go along with 55 penalty minutes.

Tigers GM and Head Coach Willie Desjardins says "We're excited to add a big, right shot centre ice man to the team. Logan has been a consistent performer throughout his career and we're looking forward to having his leadership in the room and his skill on the ice."

Corson Hopwo was selected by the Tigers in the 7th round of the 2016 WHL Prospect Draft. The product of Duncan, BC has appeared in 170 career games for the Orange and Black and has 96 points (43G, 53A). Hopwo has played in 25 games for the Tigers this season and has eight goals and eight assists to his credit.

The Tigers are back in action on Friday when they travel to Saskatoon to take on the Blades, then it's off to Prince Albert for a date with the Raiders on Saturday.
