
Power Play Success Not Enough for Ams in 6-3 Loss to Silvertips

Everett, Wash. - The Americans wrapped up a three-in-three weekend today in Everett. Tri-City found success on the power play as they scored all three of their goals with a man-advantage. They ultimately were unable to hold off the Silvertips and fell 6-3.
The Silvertips opened scoring with a goal from Ryan Hofer 5:51 into the game. They extended their lead to two at 8:28 with a shorthanded goal from Hunter Campbell.
Connor Bouchard put the Americans on the board less than a minute later as he cleaned up a rebound on the power play. The goal was Bouchard's fifth of the season.
Heading into the first intermission, Everett lead 2-1.
The Silvertips added two more goals during the second period from Jacob Wright and Ryan Hofer.
Tri-City replied with a power play goal from Ethan Ernst to cut Everett's lead to 4-2. Ernst's goal was scored with a one-timer from the low slot area off behind the net feed from Jake Sloan.
The score held with a 4-2 Everett lead into the final frame.
Once again, Everett added two more back-to-back goals. Hofer netted his third of the night to record his first WHL hat trick 15:04 into the period. Twenty-four seconds later, defenseman Ty Gibson scored his first ever WHL goal to five Everett a 6-2 lead.
With 37 seconds remaining in the game, Tyson Greenway scored on the power play to add one final goal for the Americans.
Tomas Suchanek played the full game in net, turning aside 35 of 41 shots faced.
