In the third game of their four game series, the Windy City Thunderbolts defeated the Springfield/Ozark Ducks by a score of 6-3. ThunderBolts starting pitcher Aaron Bolton had an excellent outing, scattering 5 hits and 3 runs (2 earned) while striking out 5 and walking none, pitching 7 innings and earning his second win of the season. Matt Hines pitched a perfect ninth to record his eighth save of the season. Ducks starting pitcher Cody Fisher had a shaky start, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs (3 earned) while striking out 5 and walking none, pitching 6 innings and earning his first loss of the season. The Ducks also struggled defensively, having 3 fielding errors that attributed to one of the ThunderBolts runs. P-Nut Williams continued his hitting streak to 23 games, going 1 for 4 with a single in the bottom of the eighth. The ThunderBolts have won 12 of their last 13 games, and are currently in first place, 3 games ahead of division rival Rockford. The announced attendance was 3,876. Tomorrow night the ThunderBolts take on the Springfield Ducks in the final game of their four-game series this weekend. Gates open at 5:00, first pitch is at 6:05. Tomorrow is Father's Day, and the Windy City Thunderbolts will honor all fathers prior to the first pitch.
