
Wild Things win seventh straight

Washington Wild Things News Release
The Washington Wild Things, presented by Washington Federal Savings Bank, used another solid performance from their starting pitcher to defeat the Florence Freedom, 3-2, and extend their winning streak to seven games.
Ryan Ewin (2-1) pitched well, going seven innings and giving up two runs on three hits. James Morrison (0-1) received the loss after giving up three runs in six innings of work.
Washington (18-10) started the scoring in the first when Jay Coakley's single drove in Mike Arbinger. Brian Stoecklein would add to the Wild Things' lead in the third with a solo homerun.
Florence (10-19) tied the game in the fourth inning when Kyle Levengood hit a two-run shot, driving in Matt Singer.
The Wild Things took the lead again in the fifth when Joe Buchenauer scored on Jack Headley's base hit. Jon Cahill tried scoring from second on the play but was thrown out at the plate.
B.J. Borsa protected the lead in the ninth to notch his ninth save of the season.
Washington goes for the sweep tomorrow afternoon at 2:05 and will then return home for a series against the Windy City Thunderbolts on Tuesday. Tickets are still available and can be ordered at Falconi Field or online at www.washingtonwildthings.com.
