Altoona, PA- The Thunder scored early and often, plating eight runs in the first six innings, as they went on to defeat the Altoona Curve 8-3 on Thursday night at Blair County Ballpark.

The Thunder wasted no time off RHP Derek Hankins, as they scored two runs in the first three innings. In the first, Austin Romine knocked in Justin Christian with an RBI single to right field. Romine would score the second run in the third inning on an RBI double by Daniel Brewer to give the Thunder a 2-0 lead. Brewer finished the night going 3-for-4 with two doubles.

After each team exchanged one run in the fourth inning, Trenton pulled away in the fifth with three runs on four hits, including a solo home run by Brandon Laird to right-center field. It was Laird's 20th homer of the season, and his first since June 25. In the sixth inning, Christian led off with a single and Austin Krum walked. After Romine flied out to left field, RHP Michael Colla hit Laird with a pitch to load the bases for Brewer. The Thunder right fielder drove a two-run single to center field for his third hit of the night, and Trenton increased their lead to 8-1.

RHP Adam Warren made his second Double-A start and quietly put together another quality outing, tossing seven innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out five to earn his second win with Trenton.

After a Josh Harrison two-run double in the eighth inning cut the Thunder lead to five, Ryan Pope came on to close out the ninth inning, striking out the side to end the game.

Along with Brewer, Luis Nunez also finished the night with three hits. The Thunder now own the Eastern League's best record at 58-40.
