Krum Activated from DL, Rye Assigned to High-A Tampa

(TRENTON, NJ) The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees announced today that they have activated OF Austin Krum from the disabled list, and that they have assigned OF Jack Rye to High-A Tampa.

Krum has been held out of action since July 3 and was placed on the disabled list with a tight hamstring. He had recorded at least one hit in six of his last seven games before going down with the injury. On the season with the Thunder, Krum is batting .251 with 5 HR and 34 RBI in 78 games played.

Rye, who was called up from Tampa to take Krum's place on the roster, played in 15 games for the Thunder and went 11-for-52 with 1 HR and 7 RBI. He returns to Tampa where he was batting .263 with 3 HR and 26 RBI in 60 games played.

The Thunder start a four game series at Altoona on Thursday night starting at 7:00 PM. RHP Adam Warren makes his second Double-A start for the Thunder, while Altoona will give the ball to RHP Derek Hankins. All the action can be heard live on 107.7 FM or online at www.trentonthunder.com.
