Trenton, NJ - One run would be all the Thunder needed, as Trenton held Bowie to four hits and defeated the BaySox 1-0 on Friday night at Waterfront Park. With the win, Trenton improves to 13-15.

Trenton got off to an early lead, as they picked up one run on three hits off Bowie RHP Ryohei Tanaka. However, Tanaka settled down and didn't surrender a single hit until Edwar Gonzalez lined a double to left field to begin the bottom of the fifth inning.

Trenton starting RHP David Phelps (3-0), allowed just two hits and struck out five over six complete innings to earn his third victory of the year. Bowie RHP Ryohei Tanaka (2-3) gave up one run on four hits and struck out four in six solid innings.

Josh Schmidt and Eric Wordekemper combined to pitch three innings in relief of Phelps, and gave up two hits while striking out five.

Austin Romine (17) and Reid Gorecki (10) each extended their hitting streaks in the win.

The Thunder continue their three game series with the Bay Sox on Saturday night starting at 7:05 PM. RHP Lance Pendleton starts for the Thunder, while Bowie counters with RHP Tim Bascom.
