TONIGHT: The Richmond Flying Squirrels and Harrisburg Senators will meet in game one of a three-game series...Richmond earned a series split with Altoona and a winning homestand with a 2-1, 11-inning win over the Curve on Thursday afternoon at The Diamond.

TONIGHT'S STARTER: Right-hander Daryl Maday gets the start in game one of the series for the Flying Squirrels...Got the win in four the fourth straight start against Bowie on 5/2...Allowed one run on nine hits in six innings...Struck out five batters and walked one...Nine hits allowed were a season-high and most allowed by a Richmond pitcher...Did not work a perfect inning...Had Phillip Britton thrown out at home 7-6-2 to end the top of the fifth...Lone run allowed came in the top of the sixth inning on a Miguel Abreu RBI ground out...Retired the leadoff batter in three of his six innings on the mound...Threw 89 pitches, 56 strikes...Recorded seven fly outs, five strike outs and four ground outs...Has allowed just two runs since the second inning of his start at Bowie on 4/10 (28 1/3 innings)...Has won four straight decisions for the first time since winning four in-a-row 8/9/08-8/25/08...Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week (4/26-5/2) on Monday...Leads EL with a 1.19 ERA...Attempting to become the second Eastern League pitcher to five wins.

Right-hander Erik Arnesen gets the nod in the opener of the series for the Senators...Making his second start of the season...Got a spot-start at New Britain at 4/24 and allowed two runs on six hits in four innings of work...Struck out three and walked one...Today's start was supposed to belong to Stephen Strasburg who was promoted to Triple-A Syracuse on 5/4...Was 0-1 with a 1.72 ERA in eight relief appearances...Is 2-for-2 in save opportunities...Appeared in 22 games, 21 starts, with Harrisburg after beginning 2009 with Advanced-A Potomac...Went 8-6 with a 3.87 ERA while striking out 91 batters and walking 26 in 123 1/3 innings of work...Threw a career-high 155 2/3 innings in 2009...Previous high was 124 innings of work in 2008 with Low-A Hagerstown and Potomac...Originally selected in the 17th round of the 2006 First-Year Player Draft...Attended Grove City (PA) College.

TGIF: The Flying Squirrels are a perfect 4-0 on Fridays...The club has won 2-0 on 4/9 at Bowie, 2-1 on 4/16 against Reading, 5-3 on 4/23 at Reading, and 2-0 on 4/30 against Bowie.

MAKING THEIR PITCH: The Flying Squirrels' pitching staff leads the Eastern League with a 2.59 ERA...The club has also allowed an Eastern League-low 76 runs...The 198 hits allowed by Richmond are second-fewest in the league (Trenton-194)...Flying Squirrel pitching has allowed just 30 runs on 103 hits in the club's 16 wins (1.74 ERA)...In the team's 11 losses, the pitchers have allowed 48 runs on 101 hits (4.00 ERA).

PLAY LIKE CLAY: Outfielder Clay Timpner has hits in each of his last eight contests, his second hit streak of at least five games...He drove in at least one run in each of his previous seven games...Went 13-for-25 (.520) with four doubles, nine RBI, and three runs scored on the previous seven-game homestand...Timpner is batting .455 (10-for-22) with runners in scoring position.

HOME FIELD ADVANTAGE: Richmond improved to 11-3 at The Diamond after yesterday's 2-1, 11-inning win over Altoona...After finishing their second homestand 5-2, the Flying Squirrels are the only Eastern League team to have reached double-digits in wins at home...The club has a .786 winning percentage at home, tops in the league...The Curve (9-4) is second with a .692 winning percentage at home...Richmond is 5-8 on the road; however, the club went 4-2 on its last six-game road trip through Reading and New Britain.

OUCH!: Thomas Neal was hit by a pitch for the fifth time when he got plunked in the bottom of the eight inning yesterday...Neal has been hit more than any batter in the Eastern League...The Flying Squirrels have had more batters hit by pitches (16) than any other team in the league...Portland batters have been plunked 15 times.

DOUBLETREE DOWNTOWN DOUBLE PLAYS: The Richmond Flying Squirrels have turned 34 double plays in their first 27 games...The club leads the Eastern League in double plays turned.

DEFENDING THE DIAMOND: The Flying Squirrels have committed just 11 errors in their first 27 games...Richmond has committed the fewest errors in the Eastern League and currently leads the league with a .989 fielding percentage...Harrisburg has committed the most errors (29) in the league and has the worst fielding percentage (.972).

CFS STAT OF THE NIGHT: The Flying Squirrels won their first extra-inning contest in franchise history yesterday with a 2-1, extra-inning victory over the Curve...It was also the first walk-off win in franchise history...Richmond lost it's only other extra-inning affair 1-0 in 14 innings at Altoona.

DIRTY SQUIRREL OF THE GAME: Outfielder Darren Ford was named the Puritan Cleaners Dirty Squirrel of the Game yesterday after going 1-for-5 with a stolen base...He was also caught trying to steal third.
