ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves open up a brief road trip as they take on the Altoona Curve (Pittsburgh Pirates) in the first of a three-game series at Blair County Ballpark...Yesterday, the SeaWolves finished a series split with Binghamton with a 7-6 win over the B-Mets. All seven of Erie's runs in the game came courtesy of home runs and the win gave the 'Wolves their second straight...The 'Wolves have won six-consecutive road games. The last time Erie won six straight on the road was in 2003...The 'Wolves have dropped each series opener to Altoona and the 'Wolves are 2-6 in series openers this season. Altoona boasts the league's top record at 18-8. Five of Altoona's eight losses have come against the SeaWolves...The 'Wolves enter today's game in fourth place in the Western Division, 4.5 games behind the Curve. Erie is a game over .500 for the second time this season. The 'Wolves have not been more than one game over .500 and can accomplish that with a win tonight...Lefty Duane Below takes the mound for the Howlers making his sixth start of the season and second against the Curve. Below took a no-decision in his last start against Trenton. He went five innings for the second straight outing and allowed one earned run on two hits. Below has allowed just one earned run in his last 10.0 innings pitched...Lefty Justin Wilson takes the mound for Altoona making his fifth start and third against the SeaWolves. Wilson is 0-1 with an no-decision against the Howlers. In his last start against Harrisburg, Wilson went four innings, allowing a run on four hits with three walks and two strikeouts.

- Erie leads the season series over Altoona 5-2. The SeaWolves and Curve meet 20 times in 2010." Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed 27 errors which is the second-most in the EL.
