Trenton, NJ- Akron put up ten runs in the first five innings in a 10-4 victory over Trenton on Tuesday night. With the loss and a New Hampshire win over Harrisburg, the Thunder (79-57) now have a 0.5 game lead in the Eastern Division.

Akron immediately put up four runs off RHP Cory Arbiso in the top of the first inning, capped off by a three-run homer by Beau Mills. Trenton cut the lead in half in the bottom half of the first, tagging RHP Shane Lindsay with two runs on two hits. However, Arbiso allowed two runs in the second and third innings, and ultimately was removed after giving up a pair of runs in both the fourth and fifth innings. Overall, the Aeros touched Arbiso for 10 runs on 13 hits in four innings pitched. He left in the fifth without retiring a batter. LHP Wilkins Arias came on to pick up all three outs in the frame, and Akron led 10-4 after five.

Trenton picked up two more runs in the third as Daniel Brewer drove in Austin Krum on an RBI single to leftfield. Brewer later came around on a base hit from Austin Romine. Both Romine and Brewer finished the night with three hits each.

A shortened bullpen led by Arias, J.B. Cox and INF Justin Snyder held Akron scoreless through the final four innings.
