August 31, 2010 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release

Matt Liuzza hit a solo home run in the bottom of the tenth inning off of Cory VanAllen, and the New Hampshire Fisher Cats beat the Harrisburg Senators 1-0 in 10 on Tuesday night at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. With the loss, the Senators (72-63) will likely remain 0.5 games ahead of Bowie (72-64) in the race for the second playoff spot in the Eastern League's Western Division.

Neither team could muster much offense throughout the game, with the Senators managing just four hits. The four hits came from Josh Johnson, Jesus Valdez, Edgardo Baez, and Jhonatan Solano. Ryan Tatusko pitched a gem for the Sens, throwing seven shutout innings in the start, but took the no-decision. Victor Garate and VanAllen (0-1) each pitched an inning of relief, giving up two combined hits and the one run. Reliever Alan Farina (1-0) earned the win for New Hampshire, as he pitched a scoreless top of the tenth inning.

Game three of the four-game series with New Hampshire is on Wednesday evening at 6:35, again at Merchantsauto.com Stadium. Right-hander Tanner Roark (2-1, 2.63) makes the start for the Sens, against RHP B.J. LaMura (5-6, 3.98) of New Hampshire. Fans can hear all the action by tuning in to 1460 AM The Ticket or logging on to www.senatorsbaseball.com, beginning with the pregame show at 6:20.
