New Britain Rock Cats News Release
New Britain, CT - With the final series of the 2010 Eastern League Season looming for the Rock Cats this Labor Day Weekend at New Britain Stadium, the Club has decided to roll out the red carpet for a loyal group of fans who have clearly established themselves as among the most ardently supportive in all of baseball. While the Rock Cats have, of course, always appreciated their followers - this 2010 Season has been, ahem, uniquely challenging - and thus they want to reward their tremendously loyal supporters with some extra TLC over the final weekend of play. Accordingly, this upcoming Fan Appreciation Weekend is, in many ways, all about saying Thank You to them.
While there are special tributes and activities for Fans associated with each of the 4 games the Rock Cats will play against Trenton - the New York Yankees' EL affiliate - this Labor Day Weekend at the Stadium, two stand out:
One lucky fan in attendance over Fan Appreciation Weekend will have his or her support rewarded with a Trip to 2011 Spring Training, courtesy of the Rock Cats and our presenting sponsor, Stanley Tools. This "Fan of the Year" will receive roundtrip Airfare, Two Nights in a Hotel, and Tickets to attend two Minnesota Twins 2011 Spring Training games in Ft. Myers, Florida! To be eligible to win this FANtastic prize, fans must: (1) purchase a ticket to any of the four games to be played between Friday night (September 3) and Monday afternoon (September 6) at the Stadium; (2) Take a photo of themselves enjoying the game (a photo from a cell phone will work). The Rock Cats will have a photographer and camera on hand if attendees forget theirs'; (3) E-Mail the photo to fans@rockcats.com. The Top 10 photos from each game will be posted on the Rock Cats Facebook Fan Page, enabling interested Fans to see if they are in the running. The winning Fan will be selected and notified during the week of September 6th. Don't put that sunscreen away!
In addition to the above delightful possibility, Fans purchasing tickets to any game over this 4-Day Labor Day Weekend will also have a shot to win Free Tickets to the Rock Cats 2011 Opening Night game next April! If the Rock Cats win a given game this Weekend - and we expect this never-say-die group to win at least one! - then all Fans attending that game will receive a complimentary Ticket to next season's Opening Night. This offer applies to all four gameswin this year and next year on the same night!
