
Threshers Win 2nd Half in Florida State League North Division

CLEARWATER, Fla. - The Clearwater Threshers are headed to the Florida State League North division series after securing the second half title with a 2-1 win at Jupiter on Wednesday night.
Clearwater will host the first-half champion Daytona Tortugas in game 1 of the FSL North division series on Tuesday, September 4, at 7 p.m. Dollar Tuesday, presented by Regions Bank, returns to Spectrum Field, as fans can enjoy $1 hot dogs, popcorn, peanuts, ice cream sandwiches, 16 oz. sodas, and 12 oz. draft beers. Berm seats are also available for $1 when purchased in-person at the Bay Care Box Office at Spectrum Field.
The Threshers and Tortugas will square off in a best-of-three series, with games 2 and 3 (if necessary) played at Radiology Associates Field at Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona on Wednesday, September 5, and Thursday, September 6, at 7:05 p.m.
The winner of the FSL North division series will advance to the Florida State League Championship, a best-of-five series played against the winner of the FSL South. The South will host games 1 and 2 on Friday, September 7, and Saturday, September 8. If Clearwater advances, the Threshers would host games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary), at Spectrum Field from Sunday, September 9, through Tuesday, September 11.
Clearwater returns to the playoffs for a rematch of the 2015 FSL North division series, when Clearwater won both halves in the regular season before falling to Daytona in the playoffs, 2-0.
With a 43-22 second-half record, the Threshers are just one win away from matching the Threshers record for most wins in a half. The previous high of 44 was achieved in the second half of the 2007 season by a Clearwater team that went on to win the Florida State League championship.
