The Final NHL Central Scouting list was announced on Tuesday morning which outlines top players from North America and around the globe heading into the upcoming draft.
Blueliner Nate Misskey is coming off his second season with the Royals, playing in 44 games where he amassed seven goals and added 27 assists for 34 points. Misskey was rewarded for his strong play during the 2022-23 season as he attended the Edmonton Oilers Development Camp over the 2023 off-season. The product of Melfort, SK, was originally drafted 64th overall in the third round of the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft by Victoria.
Local product Seth Fryer was the second Royals' defenceman listed, being ranked 206th in the Central Scouting Rankings. Fryer was selected 206th overall by the Royals in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft. Coming off his first full season with Victoria, Fryer notched one goal and added six assists for seven points in 57 games played. Fryer has developed through local hockey in Victoria, previously playing for the Pacific Coast Academy (CSSHL), and Peninsula Panthers (VIJHL).
Ryan Tamelin cemented an impressive season with his placement in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings for North American Goalies. Hailing from Invermere, B.C, the 6'8'' and 201 lbs. netminder signed a WHL Scholarship and Development agreement with the Royals back on November 22nd, 2023. Tamelin played one game with the Royals this season, as he suited up against the Saskatoon Blades making 33 saves on 38 shots on January 13th. Tamelin was recently named a finalist for the CSSHL U18 Prep Division Top Goaltender Award as he boasted a 13-4-0 record, 2.82 GAA, and .913 save percentage during the 2023-24 season with Okanagan Hockey Academy U18 Prep (CSSHL).
