Three Hurricanes Listed on NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings

LETHBRIDGE, AB - The Lethbridge Hurricanes Hockey Club announced Tuesday that Miguel Marques, Brayden Edwards and Landen Ward have been ranked on NHL Central Scouting Service's Final Draft Rankings for the 2024 NHL Entry Draft.
Marques, 18, was ranked 53rd among North American skaters. The Prince George, BC, product finished the 2023-2024 regular season with 74 points (28g-46a) along with 57 penalty minutes and a plus-13 rating. He led the Hurricanes in assists and points. He added one assist in two post-season games. In his career, Marques has skated in 136 regular season games totaling 100 career points (38g-62a) along with 94 penalty minutes and a plus-17 rating. The former first- round pick (10th overall) in the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft was awarded the Hurricanes Top Scorer Award while also the recipient of the Hurricanes Fan Favourite Award.
Edwards, 19, was ranked 170th among North American skaters. The Abbotsford, BC, product had a career season in 2023-2024 for the Hurricanes finishing second in team scoring with 70 points (31g-39a) along with 24 penalty minutes and a team-high plus-27 rating. He became the first Hurricane to surpass the 30-goal mark in three seasons. Edwards 70 points was a 42-point improvement from the 2022-2023 season. The 6'1, 185-pound centre added two goals in four playoff games. In his career, he has appeared in 182 regular season games amassing 125 points (51g-74a) with 78 penalty minutes and a plus-38 rating. He was named the recipient of the 'Canes Hardest Working Player Award.
Ward, 17, finished 224th among North American skaters. The Lloydminster, AB, product ended the 2023-2024 regular season appearing in 63 games collecting eight points (3g-5a) along with a team-high 120 penalty minutes. He established himself as a dependable two-way forward. He skated in four playoff games with the Hurricanes going pointless with four penalty minutes and a plus-1 rating. The 6'3, 205-pound finished his first WHL campaign as the recipient of the Hurricanes Rookie of the Year Award.
In total, 56 WHL players were ranked by NHL Central Scouting in the Final Rankings. The 2024 NHL Entry Draft will take place the the Sphere in Las Vegas on June 28-29, 2024.
