Kane County Cougars News Release

GENEVA, IL - In conjunction with the start of a ten-game homestand beginning this Saturday, the Kane County Cougars will offer a "Cougars Warm Up" ticket special for a pair of games this weekend in which the projected temperature could reach record-high levels and resemble more of a July evening than a typical Chicago April.

Fans who mention "Cougars Warm Up" when placing a ticket order for the Saturday 4/25 and Sunday 4/26 games will receive $8 reserved seats and $10 box seat tickets, a discount of $2 per seat. Fans who order tickets online at www.kccougars.com are asked to type "Cougars Warm Up" in the special instructions field when completing their internet order (discount will not appear online, but will be honored). The three magic words also can be said over the phone when reaching the Cougars' box office at (630) 232-8811 or stopping by the ticket office during business hours this week, including day-of-game ticket orders this Saturday and Sunday.

Winners of each of the first three series of the 2009 season, the Cougars kicked off the '09 campaign with the 4th best 10-game start to a season in franchise history. An impressive combination of talented draft picks including two Cougars from the greater Chicago area -- Kenny Smalley (Geneva) and Dusty Napoleon (Park Ridge) -- have contributed to first-year manager Steve Scarsone's squad.

Beginning this Saturday, fans will have a great chance to get an up-close glimpse at the newly-renovated Elfstrom Stadium to view the additions that were made to the Cougars' home this past off-season. An expanded stadium now includes an entirely-new upper deck area including nightly suite rentals, a Super Suite for year-round events for 30-200 people, and outdoor rooftop patios for group outings on game nights. A brand-new souvenir shop, located on the first base side of the stadium's concourse, features expanded space and new merchandise on display for fans during games. As a result of the stadium's upper deck, the concourse now has a covering to provide a dry spot during the occasional April rain shower.

Saturday's 5 p.m. game features a pre-game autograph session with Cougars players at 4:30 p.m. A special Ozzie's Reading Club parade also takes place before the first pitch, and following the final out, fans are permitted onto the field to run the bases. Sunday's action kicks off at 1 p.m. and also includes a pre-game autograph session with Cougars players and a parade to honor Ozzie's Reading Club graduates. Again, fans can take part in a long-standing Cougars tradition and go on the field to run the bases after the game.
