
Three Homers Boost Suns Over Legends 8-3

The Hagerstown Suns (15-25, 51-59) dominated the Lexington Legends (20-20, 55-55) 8-3 Thursday at Municipal Stadium for the closing game of the four game homestand.
JP Ramirez put the Suns on the board in the bottom of the second with a solo homerun to right field.
First baseman Justin Bloxom added two more tallies in the sixth inning with a homerun bringing in Adrian Sanchez who reached previously on a single.
The Suns took over the seventh inning starting with Brett Newsome hitting a double. With Sandy Leon on first after a walk, Eury Perez drove in both runners with a line drive triple. Rick Hague drove in the sixth run of the game after a single to center field. Adrian Sanchez finished the inning off with a two run homer.
Lexington got one more chance in the bottom of the ninth with Jimmy Paredes hitting a double. Paredes advanced Jiovanni Mier to third who previously was hit by a pitch. Driving in Paredes and Mier was a double from right fielder Jacob Goebbert. Kody Hinze brought in the last run of the game after a single making the score 8-3 which was the final.
Suns starter Billy Ott (1-0) got the win pitching five innings with three strikeouts. Kyle Morrison finished the game allowing three runs in the ninth.
Tanner Bushue (5-7) got the loss for the Legends pitching into the seventh and giving up six runs.
The Suns take the road to Kanapolis, North Carolina for a five game series starting tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. to take on the Intimidators.
