Marte Promoted to Tampa Yankees

CHARLESTON, SC - The New York Yankees announced Monday that right-handed pitcher Ronny Marte has been promoted from the Charleston RiverDogs to the High-A Tampa Yankees in the Florida State League.

Marte, a Las Guaras, Dominican Republic native, has appeared in 35 games with the RiverDogs thus far this season, including 33 relief appearances and two starts. The right-hander has posted a 2-3 record, with six saves, and a 3.13 ERA. Marte has surrendered 67 hits, 19 earned runs and 15 walks, while striking out 36 batters, in a total of 54.2 innings on the mound.
