GREENVILLE, SC - The final game of a series between the BlueClaws (24-15) and the Drive (23-16) was suspended heading into the bottom of the eleventh Thursday night because of rain.

The game is not going to be re-scheduled, although all the stats from the night will count.

Greenville took a 2-0 lead in the second on a two-run shot by Christian Vazquez. He finished the series 7-for-11 against Lakewood, with a double and three RBIs.

Despite being dominated for the most part by Greenville starter Manuel Rivera, the BlueClaws managed to draw even.

A third inning Jiwan James RBI groundout to third scored Anthony Hewitt to cut the deficit in half. Leandro Castro then led off the fourth with a double and scored on an error by second baseman Vladimir Frias to even the score at 2-2.

Over his last two starts (6 1/3 innings), Rivera had allowed 20 hits and 13 runs (12 earned), but he baffled Lakewood through seven innings Thursday. Rivera allowed just four hits, two runs (one earned) and struck out six.

Jonathan Pettibone also had a nice start for Lakewood, letting up six hits and two runs through six innings.

The Claws will start a five game series with the West Virginia Power to wrap up the road trip starting Friday at 7:05 pm. RHP Brody Colvin (5-7, 3.46) goes up against RHP Quinton Miller (2-1, 6.17).
