Three Hitmen Receive WHL Honours

The Western Hockey League announced today the Eastern and Western Conference Finalists for the 2003-04 WHL Awards, and the 2003-04 Eastern and Western Conference First and Second All-Star Teams. The winners of these awards along with the WHL Player of the Year will be announced at the 2003-04 WHL Awards Luncheon on Wednesday, April 28th, 2004.

The following Hitmen Personnel were named:

Eastern Conference Nominee – Rookie of the Year - Jim Piggott Memorial Trophy

ANDREW LADD

Eastern Conference Nominee – Executive of the Year - Lloyd Saunders Memorial Trophy

KELLY KISIO – General Manager

First Team All-Star – Forward

RYAN GETZLAF

The WHL Player of the Year, Scholastic and Humanitarian Players of the Year will be announced the first week of April.

"Its great to have our guys recognized for their accomplishments this year. Both Ryan and Andrew have been invaluable for us, and they truly deserve these accolades" noted Hitmen GM and Executive of the Year Eastern Conference Nominee Kelly Kisio.

Calgary Hitmen Governor and Calgary Flames President Ken King added "Kelly Kisio has consistently put together a competitive team, and has been able to bring the best players to Calgary. Having 4 players named to the CHL Top Prospects team this year as well as a Rookie of the Year nominee is a credit to Kelly, along with his coaching and scouting staff."
