
'Canes To Select Fourth Overall in 2004 WHL Bantam Draft

Calgary, AB â The Bantam Draft Lottery was held this morning at the Western Hockey League Office in Calgary, Alberta and a Prince George ball was drawn, giving the Cougars the first overall pick in the 2004 WHL Bantam Draft. The second selection will be by the Saskatoon Blades, the third selection will be by the Seattle Thunderbirds and the fourth overall selection will be by the Lethbridge Hurricanes. The 2004 WHL Bantam Draft will be held in Calgary April 29th, 2004.
Following is the order of selection for the 1st round of the Bantam Draft.

2) Saskatoon Blades
3) Seattle Thunderbirds
4) Lethbridge Hurricanes
5) Regina Pats
6) Brandon Wheat Kings
7) Kootenay Ice
8) Spokane Chiefs
9) Tri-City Americans
10) Portland Winter Hawks
11) Kamloops Blazers
12) Swift Current Broncos
13) Everett Silvertips
14) Vancouver Giants
15) Calgary Hitmen
16) Red Deer Rebels
17) Prince Albert Raiders
18) Moose Jaw Warriors

Following is the order of selection for the 2nd and all further rounds of the Bantam Draft.
Note: Traded selections in the 2nd round do not show. In case of a time, the first tie-breaker is victories.

Eligible players for the Bantam Draft will be 1989 born players who reside in Alberta, B.C., Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Northwest Territories, Yukon, Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
The Lottery involved the four non-playoff teams from the 2003-04 season and determined the order of the first four picks in the 1st round of the Bantam Draft.
A representative of KPMG in Calgary supervised the Lottery.
