Everett Silvertips News Release

EVERETT – Everett: Let's hear it for your EVERETT SILVERTIPS!

The Everett community will celebrate the Everett Silvertips' Division Title win and advancement to the playoffs with an appreciation parade beginning at 11:45 a.m. Thursday March 18.

An Everett Police escort and an Everett fire truck (subject to availability) will join the Silvertips in the parade. Lincoln, the Silvertips mascot, will lead the parade in a Zamboni.

The parade will begin at the corner of Broadway and Hewitt avenues at the Everett Events Center. The parade will travel north on Broadway to Everett Avenue, west on Everett Avenue to Wetmore Avenue, then north on Wetmore Avenue to 24th Street, and west on 24th Street to Colby Avenue (past Everett High School), and south on Colby Avenue to Wall Street, and east on Wall Street to Wetmore Avenue and then north on Wetmore to Hewitt Avenue and east on Hewitt Avenue to the Events Center.

The parade will last about 30 minutes and include a rolling street closure, which means the streets will only be closed as the parade passes by.

"We are thrilled by the success of our hometown hockey team," Mayor Ray Stephanson said. "Congratulations are in order for our Silvertips, the coaches and certainly for our community members, who quickly embraced this new team."

The 2004 Western Hockey League Playoffs begin with Game 1 at 7:05 p.m. Friday at the Everett Events Center against the Spokane Chiefs. Game 2 will be at 7:05 p.m. Saturday at the Everett Events Center. For tickets, call 1-866-332-8499.
