
Three Gladiators Called up to AHL Chicago

Gwinnett Gladiators forward Michael Forney and goaltender Chris Carrozzi have been re-assigned from the Gladiators to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League by the Atlanta Thrashers of the National Hockey League. In addition, Patrick Galivan has been called up to the Chicago Wolves of the AHL.
Forney makes his fourth trip of the season to the AHL and he has appeared in seven games with the wolves and has earned one assist. The second year pro led the Gladiators in scoring this season with 66 points (21 goals, 45 assists) in 66 games with Gwinnett.
The Thief River Falls, Minnesota native spent a majority of last season in Gwinnett, racking up 26 points in 63 games (11 goals, 15 assists). He also played three games for Chicago in the AHL and began this season with the Wolves before being assigned to Gwinnett. He was the Thrashers third choice, 80th overall, in the 2006 entry draft.
Carrozzi posted a .778 goals against average in his only AHL appearance, a 6-5 shootout loss at Peoria on March 1st. The rookie netminder finished the season with Gwinnett with a 3.23 goals against average and a .894 save percentage in 47 games. He also earned a 16-20-2-4 record with the Gladiators and was named the ECHL Goalie of the Week for the Week of February 28th to March 6th.
The Ottawa, Ontario, native has earned a 76-49-12 record in 156 career OHL games from 2006-2010, all with St. Michael's, earning a 2.92 goals-against average and a .908 save percentage and 11 shutouts over that span. Carrozzi, the Atlanta Thrashers sixth round selection with the 154th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, was signed by Atlanta on May 19th. He was named the 2009-10 Canadian Hockey League and Ontario Hockey League Goaltender of the Year. With the Mississauga St. Michael's Majors, Carrozzi posted a 19-10-5 record with five shutouts, a 2.36 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage in 37 games.
Galivan ranked second in points on the Gladiators during the 2010-2011 season. He earned 51 points (12 goals, 39 assists) in 58 games with the Gladiators. In two stints with the Wolves this season, Galivan has recorded one assist in five games.
Galivan played for the Gladiators last year in his first professional season. In 46 games with the Gladiators last season, Galivan earned 42 points (20 goals, 22 assists) and had 47 penalty minutes. He also recorded six points (two goals, four assists) in 19 games with AHL Chicago last season.
The Gladiators are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
