Three BlueClaws Home Run as Claws Roll 9-3 for 5th Straight Win

WAPPINGERS FALLS, NY - Leandro Pineda, Caleb Ricketts and Rixon Wingrove all homered as the BlueClaws topped Hudson Valley 9-3 on Wednesday night for their 5th straight win.
With the win, the BlueClaws stay three games back of first place Brooklyn. Jersey Shore has not only won five in a row, but they are now 14-3 in their last 17 games.
Pineda's home run, his eighth of the year, opened the scoring in the second inning and gave Jersey Shore a 3-0 lead. Hudson Valley got a run back in the fifth inning before Jersey Shore blew the game open with five runs in the fifth.
Marcus Lee Sang and Rixon Wingrove had RBI singles while Caleb Ricketts hit a three-run home run, his second of the season.
Wingrove added a solo home run, his 15th of the season, in the seventh. It was his 27th homer as a BlueClaw, tying him with Darick Hall for third most in team history.
Michael Plassmeyer began a rehab assignment with the BlueClaws, throwing two scoreless innings. Gunner Mayer (2-6) came on and gave up two runs in 5.1 innings to earn his second win of the season.
Eight of the nine BlueClaws starters had hits in the game, led by Wingrove's two. Ricketts and Pineda each drove in three runs in the win.
Mitch Neunborn starts on Thursday in the third game of the series.
