
Thorns FC to Face Utah Royals FC in 2020 Home Opener on April 18

PORTLAND, Ore. - Portland Thorns FC will play host to Utah Royals FC at Providence Park in the club's 2020 home opener on Saturday, April 18, it was announced today as the NWSL unveiled details for each club's home-opening match for its eighth season.
In addition, Portland will play its second game of the season against the Chicago Red Stars on Saturday, April 25, at SeatGeek Stadium in Bridgeview, Ill.
The April 18 match will mark Portland's first match on opening weekend of the NWSL season since 2017, and the first time Thorns FC will square off against Utah in their home opener. Dating back to 2013, Portland is 7-0-0 in home openers, outscoring its opponents 18-5 in those matches. Additionally, Thorns FC have posted a record of 2-0-1 at Providence Park all-time against Royals FC.

Tickets for the Thorns Spring Invitational, presented by Tillamook, from March 29-April 4 at Providence Park go on sale to the general public starting Thursday, Feb. 27, at 10 a.m. (Pacific) online at www.thornsfc.com. Full tournament ticket packages also will be available for purchase online. Tickets for the tournament are included in Thorns FC Annual Memberships.
