Utah Royals FC News Release
SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC announced today its home opener for the 2020 National Women's Soccer League Season against Orlando Pride on Friday, April 24, at Rio Tinto Stadium. Royals FC will begin its third season in the league on the road, facing the Portland Thorns on Saturday, April 18, at Providence Park.
Utah Royals FC holds a 3-1-2 all-time record against Orlando, including an undefeated 2019 season. This will be the third-consecutive season that Utah and Orlando have faced one another in the first two matches of the season. In their inaugural season Utah traveled to Florida for the club's first-ever game that ended in a 1-1 draw. Last year the two teams faced off in the second game of the season in Orlando that saw Utah take the 1-0 win thanks to a goal from Christen Press.
Against Portland the club has a 1-2-3 all-time record with the Thorns, having most recently defeated Portland on September 6 in a thrilling 1-0 match that saw Becky Sauerbrunn net the game-winner.
