Utah Royals FC Defender Sydney Miramontez Announces Retirement

SANDY, Utah - Utah Royals FC defender Sydney Miramontez has announced her retirement from professional soccer.
"Earning the opportunity to play professional soccer will always be one of my greatest achievements. I have been fortunate enough to learn from many of the great talents in the game and I will forever reap the benefits of those experiences," Miramontez said. "My time as a pro has helped me to better understand who I am, and given me the confidence to begin the next chapter of my life. To play in the NWSL has been a true honor, and to play for a club like Utah Royals FC has been nothing short of a dream. Thank you to my teammates, coaches, staff and fans who have made my time in Salt Lake City special. I look forward to cheering all of you on in my next career."

Miramontez made 14 appearances over two seasons at center back while at Utah. The midfielder/defender got her National Women's Soccer League start with FC Kansas City where she played in five matches. She also played one season in Australia with Western Sydney Wanderers in the Westfield W-League.
