North Richland Hills, TX- RG Flath scored twice in a span of 1:40 as Wichita (24-9-2) knocked off the Texas Brahmas (17-14-7) 4-3 at the NYTEX Sports Centre Friday night. Wichita leads the season series four games to one, having won four-straight against Texas and is the first team to hit the 50-point barrier.

Wichita benefitted from two power plays in the first period, both of which were too many men on the ice penalties, and Aaron Davis (18) delivered to give Wichita a 1-0 lead. Jarred Mohr put a shot on net and Davis, who played two seasons for the Brahmas, was able to bang home a rebound.

Texas tied the game at 9:57 of the second period as Brendon Hodge caught a pass on the right circle and put it low on the ice past Thunder goalie Adam Russo.

After a Phil Fox goal early in the third period gave Texas its first lead of the game, Wichita scored the next three. Chris Greene (2) scored just over a minute later to make it 2-2 on a tip-in from the point. Flath (4) regained the lead for the Thunder at 13:27 after his shot re-directed off the defenders stick and past Brahmas goalie Steve Silverthorn to make it 3-2. At 15:07, Flath (5) scored in similar fashion, this time on a wrister that went directly over Silverthorn's glove to make it 4-2. The Brahmas would add a goal with three minutes left by Andrew Lackner, but it was not enough and Wichita held on for the 4-3 win. Each game between the two teams has been decided by one goal. Russo earned his 17th win of the season and is now 9-1-2 in his last 12 games. Wichita is 3-1-0 on its current five-game road trip and leads the league in wins (24), points (50), and winning percentage (.714).

The Thunder finish off its five-game road trip Saturday night against Texas before returning home Sunday afternoon to face the Brahmas at 5:05 p.m. For tickets, call 755-SEAT, visit the INTRUST Bank Arena box office or online at www.selectaseat.com.
