Tulsa Oilers News Release

FORT WAYNE, IN - Gerome Giudice had a goal disallowed in the second period. Michel Beausoleil rang a shot off the post on a 5-on-3 powerplay in the third period. Yet again, the bounces went against the Oilers in a 3-2 loss to the Komets on Friday night at Fort Wayne Coliseum. Tulsa has now lost six of its last seven games overall and six of its last seven road games.

With Fort Wayne up 3-1 early in the third, Jay Sprague received a pretty feed from Giudice and snapped the puck past Nick Boucher to pull the Oilers within a goal. Tulsa enjoyed a two-man advantage mid-way through the final frame but could only find the iron instead of the mesh as Beausoleil's slapshot connected with the post.

Oilers defenseman Jeff Terminesi was dealt a double-minor and game misconduct for spearing that forced Tulsa to the penalty kill for several minutes late in the third period. The Oilers were able to kill off the Komets powerplay but could not find the equalizer before time ran out.

It was the first ever meeting between the two franchises which will clash again tomorrow night for the second game in the back-to-back series. Tulsa is now 2-7-2 this season against teams from the Turner Conference.
