Gillis, Evansville Shut out Mallards 3-0

EVANSVILLE, Ind. - Bryan Gillis made 37 saves on the way to a second straight shutout of the Quad City Mallards as the host Evansville IceMen downed the Mallards 3-0 Friday night.

Evansville was on the power play when Phillippe Plante pounced on a rebound to score the first goal of the evening at 14:58 of the first period.

Josh Beaulieu's wrist shot from the left wing circle stretched the IceMen lead to 2-0 at 3:58 of the second period. Gillis was at his busiest in the second, turning aside 16 shots in the middle frame alone. Gillis turned in another standout effort after he and the IceMen had blanked the Mallards 2-0 Tuesday night in the Quad Cities.

Brian Bicek finished off the Mallards- who outshot Evansville 37-25- by scoring an empty net goal in the final minute of the third period.

The Mallards return home to take on the Fort Wayne Komets Sunday at 4:05 p.m. Fans can bring their skates and join the Mallards on the ice for a Genesis Post-Game Family Skate after each of the Flock's Sunday afternoon home games this season.

The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and on game days from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the second period. Individual game tickets are available for $12 in the upper level and $17 in the lower level and $25 for the first row along the glass for adults. Tickets for kids 12 and under are available for $5 off adult rates. In addition, tickets are available to military personnel for $2 off the regular adult rate.
