Prepare for a day of family fun and hockey excitement on Sunday, April 6 as the Peoria Rivermen take on the Houston Aeros in a 3 pm game featuring the Peoria Zoo, St. Jude charity broomball action, Pride in Peoria Day, and Comcast Cable/Peoria Journal Star Family Fun on the Run Day!
In addition to the wonderful benefits and activities of Family Fun on the Run Day, the Peoria Zoo will have animal displays at the game and are looking for your help to collect and recycle old cell phones and accessories! Have a phone you just don't use anymore? Recycle it at the game and help clean up the environment for generations of humans and our animal friends.
"Pride in Peoria" Day kicks off the city's anti-litter campaign. There will be a special Chuck-A-Puck with additional prizes PLUS all city employees receive discounted ticket prices for the game by calling Alma Brown at (309) 494-8554.
Don't forget about the big celebrity broomball game being staged at 1:30 between St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and the Peoria Rivermen All-Stars! Team St. Jude will feature local celebrities such as Mayor Jim Ardis, WEEK-TV's Lee Hall, and Dr. Chris Putnam; Team Rivermen boasts such stars as ESPN Radio's Doc and Kotter, former Rivermen legend Tyler Rennette, Peoria County Administrator Patrick Urich, and Anna Kinkade from 105.7 The X.

As always, Comcast Cable/Peoria Journal Star Family Fun on the Run Day will include $1 hot dogs, chips, and Coke products from 2-3 pm; inflatables for the kids; face painting and balloon animals; and our final post-game skate with the Rivermen! Bring your camera and your marker to grab autographs and pictures.
