Iowa Chops News Release

DES MOINES, IA - The Iowa Stars today announced that the club has signed defenseman Trevor Ludwig out of Providence College to an amateur try out agreement. The club also assigned defenseman Ethan Graham to their primary affiliate in the ECHL, the Idaho Steelheads.

Ludwig, 22, joins the team following his senior season at Providence College where he played 115 games, registering 15 points with the Friars. The 6-1, 210-pound defenseman was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the 2004 Entry Draft, sixth round, 183rd overall. Prior to his college career at Providence Ludwig played two seasons with the Texas Tornado of the NAHL where he posted 32 points and led the team to a league championship. Trevor is the son of former Dallas Stars player, Craig Ludwig.

Graham, 25, began the season in Iowa and has registered 5 points (1-4-5) in 47 games with the Stars this season. Graham spent 6 games with Idaho in late January before being recalled from loan on February 5th. The 6-2, 185-pound defenseman missed ten games after suffering a shoulder injury in the season opener at San Antonio before he picked up his first professional point with an assist in the Stars loss to Manitoba on December 4th, and scored his first professional goal at Quad City on December 19th.

The Xenia, OH native most recently played four seasons with the Michigan State University Spartans where he helped the team to a National Championship over Boston College in April of 2007. Graham led defensemen on the team with 12 assists and was voted Most Outstanding Defenseman. Prior to joining the Spartans, Graham played two years with the Lincoln Stars of the USHL; a team that won the Anderson and Clark cups.
