Tacoma Rainiers News Release
TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers today officially welcomed The Hub as the club's exclusive in-stadium pizza provider, making the South Sound favorite the latest addition to a locally-based food and beverage lineup featured at Cheney Stadium this season.
Dubbed "Pie On The Fly," the signature Artisan-style pizzas The Hub perfected at their neighborhood pub in the Stadium District will take up residence on the first-base side of the Cheney Stadium concourse beginning on Opening Night, tomorrow, April 12th.
"The Hub is a great spot, and it's local, which is so important to how we want to do things," said Aaron Artman, Rainiers team president. "I love the idea of having them featured here at Cheney Stadium, and I think our fans will love it as well. To be able to grab a beer and a slice and know that it came from Tacoma is really cool."
Guests can expect to enjoy dining options created by The Hub specifically for the ballpark, as well as sample from a selection of fine ales crafted by the Harmon Brewing Co. Large 17-inch pepperoni, cheese and buffalo chicken pizzas will be served up by the slice alongside fan-favorites such as The Hub's Famous Cajun Tots and Foot Long Parmesan Bread Sticks.
The selection of Harmon beers featured on tap will include the popular Pt. Defiance IPA, the award-winning Puget Sound Porter and a rotating tap of seasonal selections.
The Hub's partnership with the Rainiers further highlights a food and beverage roster created with the Puget Sound in mind. Northwest dining icon Ivar's, Inc. was named the exclusive concessions provider at Cheney Stadium earlier this spring, and Seattle-based Beecher's Cheese was also welcomed as one of the ballpark's latest concessions options.
"The best part of this new venture is that we are among such an amazing group of restaurant operations," said Carole Holder, co-owner of Harmon Brewing Co. "Ivar's, Kidd Valley, Beecher's and the Harmon; we smile every time we hear the lineup."
The Rainiers open the club's home schedule at 7 p.m. tomorrow, April 12th, and will be followed by a special Opening Night fireworks display following the game. The eight-game homestand is additionally highlighted by S.H.I.E.L.D. Night on Saturday, April 13th and the first Thirsty Thursday of the season on April 18th.
