Texas and Rockford meet for the fifth time this season and the 17th time in AHL history. The two teams will play a total of six games this season, including two more at Cedar Park Center. The Stars lead the all-time series with a 12-4-0-0 record against the Hogs, including a 7-2-0-0 mark at home. Rockford has yet to lose in regulation to Texas this season, posting a 2-0-1-1 mark. On Friday night at Cedar Park Center, Texas beat Rockford 6-5 in overtime.

The Stars are 15-8-3-2 at Cedar Park Center this season and 5-3-1-1 in the last ten games. The Stars are playing the final contest of a four-game home stand and concluding a stretch of five straight games against divisional opponents. The Stars are 23-13-1-2 against the West Division this season. Texas is the least penalized team in the league accruing 12.00 penalty minutes a game. The Stars are 14-1-3-3 in one-goal games this year. Texas will embark on a season-long 14-day road trip. Over the span, the Stars will play eight road games.

The IceHogs are 9-10-1-2 on the road this season and 2-6-2-0 in the last ten games played. The Hogs rank ninth overall in the AHL, averaging 18.69 penalty minutes per game. The IceHogs have been outscored 62-54 on the road this year. Rockford is 12-15-3-4 against the West Division this season. With 32 goals scored in the first period of play this year, the IceHogs rank 28th in the AHL for first-period scoring. Rockford ranks seventh in the AHL, allowing only 28.63 shots per game.

Through four games of the season series, Hogs forward Jeff Taffe leads all scorers with six assists and eight points. Winger Ryan Potulny is second among scorers with two goals and four assists for six points. Right wing Colton Sceviour and defenseman Maxime Foretunus lead Texas in scoring with a goal and four points each. Defenseman Dan Spang leads the series with three goals.

Stars goalie Richard Bachman is 0-1-0 with a 2.03 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. Goalie Brent Krahn is 2-0-0 with a 3.70 goals against average and a .877 save percentage. Last season, Krahn went 4-0-0 with a 0.99 goals against average and a .971 save percentage. He also posted two shutouts against the Hogs. Rockford's Hannu Toivonen is 2-0-1 with a 3.82 goals against average and a .875 save percentage against Texas. Alec Richards has a 2.67 goals against average and a .875 save percentage in 44 minutes of play versus Texas.

Dallas Assigns Wathier

The Dallas Stars announced on Saturday that the club has assigned left wing Francis Wathier to the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Wathier, 26, has appeared in three games for Dallas this season, going scoreless. He has also played in 44 AHL games for Texas, recording 24 points (13 goals, 11 assists). Wathier represented Texas at the AHL All-Star Game on Jan. 31 in Hershey, Penn. The 6-3, 208-pound winger was Dallas' sixth round selection (185th overall) in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

Texas Signs Dave Bonk

On Friday, the Texas Stars announced that the team has signed center Dave Bonk to a PTO (professional tryout agreement).

The 28-year old center has played the majority of the season with the CHL's Allen Americans. Bonk has appeared in 33 games with the Americans, scoring 15 goals and 29 assists for 44 points. The 188-pound center also appeared in six games with the Oklahoma City Barons this year, posting one assist and four penalty minutes. Last Season, the Brandon, MB native played with the Manglerud Star in Norway. Before joining Manglerud, Bonk played with the ECHL's Bakersfield Condors during the 2008-09 season. The center led the Condors in points and assists (31g-51a82) in 60 games. Bonk made his Texas Stars AHL debut on Friday night against the Rockford IceHogs.

Dallas Recalls Vincour, Assigns Morin and Sceviour

The Dallas Stars announced on Sunday that the NHL club has recalled right wing Tomas Vincour (Vin-sooer) from the Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL). Dallas has also assigned center Travis Morin and right wing Colton Sceviour (See-vee-orr) to Texas.

Vincour, 20, made his NHL debut on Tuesday night. He has appeared in 44 games for Texas this season, scoring five goals and seven assists for 12 points with 10 penalty minutes. The Brno, Czech Republic, native was selected by Dallas in the fifth round (129th overall) of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

Morin, 27, has appeared in three games for Dallas, including his NHL debut against Edmonton in a 3-1 win on Jan. 26. He has recorded 34 points (13g, 21a) in 47 games this season for Texas. Morin was signed as a free agent on July 12, 2010 and was originally selected in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft (ninth round, 263rd overall) by the Washington Capitals.

Sceviour, 21, was recalled from Texas on Friday and made his NHL debut Saturday at Philadelphia. He has appeared in 47 games for Texas this season, scoring nine goals and 16 assists for 25 points with four penalty minutes and a +6 rating. A native of Red Deer, Alberta, Sceviour was originally selected by Dallas in the fourth round (112 overall) in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Texas Signs Mark Derlago

Prior to Saturday's game, the Texas Stars signed left wing Mark Derlago to a PTO (professional tryout agreement). Derlago has appeared in 48 games for the Idaho Steelheads this season, leading the team with 25 goals and 28 assists for a team-high 53 points. Last season, the 25-year old again led the team in goals, assists and points (42g-50a-92) in 60 games for Idaho, finishing fourth in the ECHL for points and tied for third in goals. In 225 ECHL games, he's scored 138 goals and totaled 279 points.

Rockford 5 at Texas 6 OT 2/11/11

The Texas Stars defeated the Rockford IceHogs 6-5 on Friday night in front of 5,545 fans at Cedar Park Center. Stars' forward Greg Rallo scored the decisive goal to lift Texas over Rockford with only 3.3 seconds remaining in overtime. With six minutes left in regulation, defenseman Dan Spang notched the game-tying goal to force overtime. During the first period, the Stars scored four goals in the last five minutes to end the first 20 minutes of play with a 4-1 lead. Six Texas skaters registered a two-point night, including Cody Chupp, Colton Sceviour, Luke Gazdic, Brad Lukowich, Dan Spang and Maxime Fortunus. Texas goalie Brent Krahn (6-5-0) made 29 saves to bring the Stars to 15-8-3-2 at home. After 20 minutes of play, Rockford goalie Hannu Toivonen (10-11-3) stopped nine of 13 shots for the loss. IceHogs goalie Alec Richards (10-14-1) stopped 13 of 15 shots faced in a relief effort.

Houston 4 at Texas 1 2/8/11

The Texas Stars were defeated by the Houston Aeros 4-1 on Tuesday night in front of 4,818 fans at Cedar Park Center. Houston goalie Anton Khudobin (17-9-1) made 32 saves to preserve the win as Texas outshot Houston 33-27. Houston center Patrick O'Sullivan had a multi-point night with a goal and an assist. Right wing Jon DiSalvatore tallied three assists to lead the Aeros offense. Center Cody Almond also secured a goal and an assist for Houston. Texas right wing Colton Sceviour scored the lone Texas goal midway through the third period. Texas goalie Richard Bachman (18-11-2) made 23 saves in the loss to bring the Stars to 14-8-3-2 at home.

Oklahoma City 0 at Texas 3 2/5/11

The Texas Stars defeated the Oklahoma City Barons 3-0 on Saturday night in front of 5,738 at Cedar Park Center. Texas Stars goalie Richard Bachman made 30 saves for the win, posting his fourth shutout of the year. Stars' left wing Ondrej Roman scored two goals minutes apart in the first period to give the Stars an early 2-0 that the team never surrendered. Left wing Brandon Segal had a goal and an assist, as the Stars improved to 14-7-3-2 at home this season. Oklahoma City goalie Martin Gerber (17-11-3) stopped 29 of 32 shots in the loss.

The Texas Stars

After 51 games of action, center Travis Morin leads Texas in scoring with 13 goals and 21 assists for 34 points. The All-Star center leads Texas with 21 assists in 48 games played. Right wing Greg Rallo is second on the team in scoring with 31 points (16g-15a) in 51 games played. Ralllo leads the team in goals and with 153 shots on net. Colton Sceviour is third on the team with 18 assists and 28 points in 49 games played. Dan Spang is fourth overall on the team with 24 points. Spang is tied for third on the team in assists (18) and leads all defensemen in shots on goal (105). Defensemen Brad Lukowich is second on the team with 19 assists. Left wing Luke Gazdic's 74 penalty minutes lead the team.

Texas Stars goalies Richard Bachman and Brent Krahn fill the net for the Stars. Bachman has appeared in 34 games, going 18-11-3 with a 2.19 goals against average and a .925 save percentage. Bachman ranks seventh overall in the AHL for goals against average and seventh in save percentage. Bachman has started 19 of the last 23 games. Krahn has appeared in 11 games, posting a 6-5-0 mark, a 3.12 goals against average and a .895 save percentage. Krahn was out with an injury from Nov. 10, 2010 to Feb. 4, 2011.

Streak Comes to an End

With their recalls to the NHL's Dallas Stars, Texas forwards Colton Sceviour and Travis Morin both had their consecutive games played streak ended at 127 games apiece last week. The two skaters were the last remaining original skaters to have played in every game in team history. Counting the Stars 2010 Calder Cup Playoff run, Sceviour and Morin suited up in 151 straight games heading into last weekend's action. Morin and Sceviour are still the team's all-time leaders in games played. With Morin missing this Friday's game with an injury, Sceviour became the team's all-time leader in games played on Friday night by suiting up in his 129th game.

Rockford IceHogs

Rockford Head Coach Bill Peters enters his third season with the IceHogs. Peters guided the Hogs to a second straight 40-win season last year. Prior to joining the IceHogs, Peters was the head coach for the WHL Spokane Chiefs for three seasons. In his final year in the WHL, he led the Chiefs to the 2007-08 Memorial Cup championship.

Center Jeff Taffe leads the IceHogs in scoring with 15 goals and 34 points in 44 games played. Defenseman Brian Connelly leads Rockford with 27 assists and is tied for second with 31 points in 49 games played. Connelly has collected a team-high 12 assists on the power play. Center Ryan Poltuny is tied for third on the team with 31 points. Potulny is second on the team with 13 goals, including a team-high seven power-play markers. Rookie Kyle Beach is fourth on the squad with 25 points off ten goals and 15 assists in 47 games played. Beach is second on the team with 98 penalty minutes. Left wing Kyle Hagel's 127 penalty minutes in 48 games are tops among IceHogs.

Goalie Alec Richards is 10-15-1 with a 2.63 goals against average and an .906 save percentage. Hannu Toivonen splits time with Richards in net going 10-10-3 mark, a 2.98 goals against and an .895 save percentage.

Rockford also features former Texas Stars defenseman Ivan Vishnevskiy, who has 14 points in 40 games for the Hogs. Vishnevskiy played in 51 games for the Texas Stars in 2009-10, before Dallas traded him to Atlanta in the Kari Lehtonen deal. In the offseason, Vishnevskiy was traded by the Thrashers to the Blackhawks, who then assigned him to Rockford.

Special Teams

After finishing second overall last season on the penalty kill, the Texas Stars penalty kill is 28th overall at 77.2%. Texas ranks 15th best in the AHL, converting on 18.0% of its power plays. The IceHogs are 23rd overall on the power play, converting 15.3% of the time. Rockford is 17th overall on the penalty kill, stopping 82.0% of their opponents' power plays.

Offense and Defense

The Texas Stars are eighth overall in team defense, allowing 2.69 goals against per game. Texas is ranked 16th out of 30 teams, scoring an average of 2.80 goals per game. Rockford's defense ranks 20th overall with a 3.02 goals against per game. The Hogs sit 25th offensively, averaging 2.59 goals per game.
