Texas Legends News Release
FRISCO, TX - The Texas Legends have announced the extension of their community-focused partnership through the 2027-28 season with Thrivent. The two organizations have joined forces in the North Dallas area to reach a number of local non-profits and underserved organizations, working together to impact more lives and deepen their thumbprint on the communities they serve.
Thrivent is a purpose-driven financial services organization that helps its clients make the most of all they've been given. With more than 2.3 million clients nationwide, Thrivent provides expertise and support that empowers people to make financial choices guided by their values and resources that enable clients to live generously.
"We both feel like we've seen a lot of success in the first two years of this partnership, and we're excited to watch it grow," said Legends President Malcolm Farmer. "When we began discussions with the Thrivent team, the fit was immediately evident. They are a company that truly cares about their impact, and we're proud to join them in amplifying that."
The partnership will continue to focus on building relationships with Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) that will open new doors for the students, staff, families and surrounding communities. Thrivent strives to provide financial advice tools and programs that will not only create an immediate impact but will leave a lasting legacy for families. Through a joint relationship with Paul Quinn College, a Dallas-based HBCU, the two organizations have started working towards that goal. The plan is to continue the current programming while expanding into avenues that will further promote future success for the students and community of Paul Quinn.
"We partnered with the Legends because we think this will be a truly impactful collaboration," said Thrivent Diversity & Inclusion Field Sales Enablement Lead Sam Bryant. "Now we're doubling down on our dream and impact goals by extending our partnership another five years."
Along with the game activations Thrivent hosts, the two will continue to team up in the community, hosting free clinics, webinars, and outreach events throughout the metroplex.
"The Texas Legends have been an incredible partner over the past two years," said Liz Mikel, manager of Community Engagement and president of the Thrivent Member Network. "We're multiplying our impact in the greater Dallas area because of our synergistic work, and that's what partnerships are really about for us at Thrivent."
Thrivent, the official and exclusive Financial Services Provider of the Legends, will continue to have prominent branding on the Legends' home jerseys and in the Comerica Center for all games.
"Thrivent prioritizes the same principles we do," said Farmer. "They get excited about our charity partners, they come alongside our existing outreach efforts and help expand into new areas. We are proud of what we've accomplished together but we're both focused on the future impact we will create."
