CLEVELAND, OH - The Cleveland Charge (11-9) defeated the Greensboro Swarm (7-13), 110-100, at the Novant Health Fieldhouse on Wednesday Night. Cleveland's Sam Merrill set a new Charge franchise record with 10 made three-pointers in the game.

Merrill got off to a hot start, hitting 5-of-6 three-pointers in the opening quarter for 15 points. A back-and-forth first half saw 21 lead changes and seven ties, as the Charge took a 58-55 lead into halftime thanks in part to 16 assists as a team on 23 made field goals.

Sam got hot again in the third quarter, hitting 4-of-5 from deep as the visitors outscored the Swarm 36-21 in the frame to build up a 94-76 lead. Greensboro held the Charge to just 16 points in the fourth quarter, but only hit 38% of their own shots and never could get within three possessions of their deficit. Cleveland has now won nine consecutive matchups against the Swarm dating back to the 2018-19 season.

Merrill finished with a season-high 32 points on 10-of-14 from three-point range with four rebounds and two steals in 35 minutes. Jamorko Pickett scored 25 points with eight boards, two steals and two blocks in 38 minutes. Sharife Cooper scored 18 points and dished out 11 assists in 33 minutes for his seventh double-double of the season.

Six Swarm players scored in double figures led by Kai Jones's 18 on 7-of-8 from the field with a pair of blocks in 32 minutes. Bryce McGowens added 16 points, six rebounds and four steals in 28 minutes.

The Charge will host back-to-back promotional nights at the Wolstein Center this weekend, kicking off first with Black Heritage Celebration presented by Immaculate Cleaning on Friday, February 24th at 7:00 p.m. followed by Superman: 85 Years of Heroism presented by Bertman Original Ballpark Mustard for another 7:00 p.m. tip-off against the Lakeland Magic (Orlando Magic) on Saturday, February 25th.
